ABOUT MY SONGS OF THE MONTH:
Every month you can download a new FREE song, and everything you need to use it. This includes the audio file, sheet music with guitar chords, and any activity or prop patterns which accompany the song. This is completely free. You also have at your fingertips all of the past songs of the month– 24 hours a day, 7 days a week! If you have just discovered this site, and it’s too overwhelming to you to download all of those songs (over 72 as of October/06), you can purchase a 2-CD set with the first 4 years of songs (it’s only $15, which works out to 27 cents a song, so consider what your time is worth). Then simply download this year’s songs, and you’ll be caught up!

In addition to the songs and their related materials, I try to include relevant links to help you build on those songs. These sites are for teachers, parents, sometimes children, and always educational. I hope they will save you time and help you build curriculum around the songs. Please read the additional notes below, which should answer any questions you may have about this service

LISTENING to the songs:

  • Every song will automatically load and begin playing as soon as you select it. If you would like to stop it, just click your mouse on the on/off button. Click the button again to restart the song. You can play it over and over without having to reload the page.

  • If you don’t have speakers connected to you computer, you should have a headphone jack which allows you to plug in headphones. Look on the back of your computer if you don’t see in on the front. This is also useful when you want to listen on a public computer without disturbing the people around you.

SAVING the song:

  • If you would like to save the song on your computer, just look for the simple instructions on how to do that. Read and follow them carefully, and you'll be able to do it!

  • If you would like to save the songs on CD’s, you will also find simple instructions on how to do that. (or, ask any teenager!).

ADDITIONAL MATERIALS

  • Remember! The sheet music, chords, prop patterns, activities, and related educational links are all there for you to use. Follow the simple instructions to print out the pages, and make as many copies as you like for your students, teachers, parents and other childcare providers.

  • Remember! Since you always have access to past songs of the month, don’t forget to look for seasonal songs from past years to thicken out your seasonal and holiday repertoire!

  • If you have an idea for a song of the month topic, I would love to hear from you.
